A Vision for Quality Education

Continuing the series of pieces senior fellow Kiran Bhatty has been writing on the New Education Policy, that is in the process of being drafted, the following article published by YOJANA, looks at issues that focus on the broader vision for education. It highlights the need for policy to be oriented towards the longer terms goals of learning in its fuller sense with a balanced approach to science and social science perspectives, and not just towards the acquisition of skills or other short terms results and solutions. It further points to the need for looking at institutional reforms, especially in the public sector, tin order to address implementation failures and provide the foundations for a strong public education system.
