Monitoring RTE

This document is not just a report or a mere documentation of a pilot process, but an attempt to chronicle the numerous stories of thousands of people who have been part of a community monitoring process rolled out by the NCPCR and supported by the MHRD. Such an initiative by the government has been a first in the history of Education in India.

It is an attempt to tell a story – that of the interface between people and the education system in India– a story which has many smaller stories within, a story which is littered with problems, but also with innovative solutions and eventually a story of the enduring hope and desires of millions of children and their parents from the education system of the country.
