Listen to the full audio of the talk (above) by Madhu Kishwar on the Livelihood Battles of Nano Entrepreneurs in India. Kishwar is Founder-Editor of Manushi, ‘a Journal about Women and Society,’ which pioneered people oriented journalism and made critical intellectual interventions in contemporary debates on diverse issues.

Specifically focusing on the legal harassment faced by migrants who turn to the rickshaw-pulling market in Delhi, Kishwar draws from her experience of working with the pullers and analyses the skewed laws that prevent them from earning an honest wage in the industry. She discusses Manushi’s ground-breaking work in engaging the judiciary to reform laws and policies to work for the people.
