Ira Sharma is a Research Associate at CPR’s Initiative on Climate Energy and Environment (ICEE). She is currently working on the political economy of India’s electricity future at state level. Her research interest revolves around political economy of electricity, water-energy- food nexus and agricultural resource use in India. She has worked on electricity reforms in Andhra Pradesh and Punjab, resource planning and power procurement practices by discoms, consumer participation in electricity regulation and regulatory impact assessment.
Prior to joining CPR, Ira worked with Centre for Energy, Environment and Resources. She has earlier worked with CUTS Institute for Regulation and Competition and Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration.
She is an alumnus of Punjab University and holds an MA degree in Economics.
