We are pleased to announce the Third Interdisciplinary Emerging Scholars Symposium on India China Studies to be held from 8-9 November 2013 at the University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad. This is a collaborative initiative that the India China Institute at The New School, New York and the Centre for Policy Research, New Delhi launched in 2011 in partnership with the East Asia Departments of the University of Delhi and Jawaharlal Nehru University. The CPR is the India academic partner of the India China Institute.

The unique initiative is designed to provide a platform for researchers pursuing an advanced degree in MPhil/PhD work and young scholars who received their PhDs within the last five years, to present their ongoing research. Papers with a strong analytical focus on India-China interactions, comparisons, and impact will be given preference. Please see the attachment for further details.

This is part of a three-part symposium series that will be held in India, China and the U.S. The best Indian, Chinese, and American paper presenters will be invited to an international symposium in New York in the spring of 2014.

Please send all abstract submissions by email to my colleague, Nimmi Kurian, Associate Professor, Centre for Policy Research, New Delhi and India Representative, India China Institute, The New School.  (icisymposium2013@gmail.com). The deadline for the submission of abstracts is 5 August 2013.
