About the Discussion
As part of its Dialogues on Indian Politics Series, CPR and TCPD are hosting a discussion on the findings of a major survey recently released by Pew Research Center in India. Conducted between late 2019 and early 2020, 30.000 respondents were interviewed on their views on religion, both in the private and public sphere. The Survey contains a wealth of information on how Indians view and practice their religion and sheds light on the changing modes of co-existence between different religions in India. The Pew Survey on religion provides a unique lens into such questions at a time of resurgence of religion in the public sphere and deep reconfiguration of its relation with politics.
The event will start with a presentation of the survey’s main findings, followed by a panel discussion.

The CPR-TCPD Dialogues on Indian Politics brings together academicians, policy and political practitioners, and civil society actors to grapple with important social and political issues in India.
