About the Book
Colossus: The Anatomy of Delhi (Cambridge University Press) unpacks the complex realities and paradoxes of the National Capital Region (NCR). The key themes of social change, community and state, and inequality are investigated in chapters focusing on the material condition of the metropolis (housing, services, crime, pollution) and its social organization (marriage, migration, citizenship, identity). In this half-day conference, the two editors of the book and five of its twenty contributors discuss some of the significant issues and challenges of contemporary Delhi.
