The framework is a revision of the curriculum after the 1988 framework. Similar to the previous framework, it recommends pre-school education, integration of Environmental Science (EVS) with language and mathematics and art, education health, physical education and work education with ‘Art of Healthy and Productive Living’ at the primary level, three-language formula and provision of alternative schooling system as the main strategy. The system of organisation and evaluation is also similar to the last framework, i.e., a focus on Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) at the primary level, no public examinations till class X and full implementation and evaluation of Minimum Learning Outcomes.
