About the Discussion:

There is an emerging consensus among the scholars that with the rise of BJP in 2014, India’s second Republic is in the making, with new legislations and power-sharing arrangements fundamentally altering the old system. At the same time, the current moment also unravels the limitations of existing vocabulary to confront and explain evolving social changes. Is India undergoing a crisis in political thought? Basing the discussion mainly around Abhay Dubey’s recently released book ‘Hindu Ekta Banaam Gyan ki Rajniti‘, this panel brings together scholars from different ideological strands to assess the nature of contemporary political discourse in India and its future implications.
