About the webinar
This panel discussion will look at the implications of COVID-19 and nationwide lockdown on the rural economy. It will examine the impact of large-scale reverse migration on the labour market, the role of the agriculture economy and rural safety nets including MGNREGA (in the current crisis and going forward as we head to economic revival). In particular, this discussion will focus on the implications of the just announced economic package and structural reforms announced by the government. The panel will also reflect on the implications of the PM’s call for going local on the agricultural economy.
