B Santosh Rao Dora

FORMER RESEARCH LEAD

Santosh Dora is the Research Lead for the Environmental Justice Program in Odisha and oversees its implementation in in Keonjhar and Sundargarh Districts. Santosh focuses on research about effective implementation of community-driven approaches towards realizing environmental and social rights and entitlements. His research also focuses on understanding the impacts of environmental non-compliance issues in these districts.
In the past he has engaged with community forest protection committees, community action groups, village development committees, and various Gram Sabhas to enable proper implementation of laws related to land and forest rights for achieving health, nutrition and livelihood security.

Equipped with a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Behrampur University and a Master’s degree in Sociology from Pondicherry University, Santosh Dora has 25 years of experience working with various civil society and state level research organizations in Odisha, India which includes organisations such as Centre for Development Cooperation, Agragamee, Society for the Welfare of Weaker Sections, and the Poorest Areas Civil Society program of the Department for International Development.
